At Fitzsimons we approach teamwork with commitment, advocating a close working relationship with the client and each project manager, this is our proven blueprint for success. We are proud that many of our clients see us as an extension of their in-house teams.

Our clients have said some nice things about us and it would be a shame to keep them to ourselves, so forgive us for showing off a little!

Brian McCarthy - Managing Director at Valor Hospitality Partners

”We are nearing the end of an extensive renovation programme. In all we will have refurbished over 1,400 bedrooms across 7 hotels (Holiday Inns and Crowne Plazas), completed 4 public area schemes, executed an extensive meeting room programme and successfully rebranded 6 hotels – it’s been a busy time.

We have a strong in house team but equally rely heavily on our partners to play their part. Greig Hanley, Director, of Fitzsimons has been in the thick of things leading the project management function. I have been impressed for a few reasons.

  1.     There was a good cultural fit – with Greig and the team what you see is what you get, there is no politics.
  2.     When things go wrong, as they do, they find solutions.
  3.     They deliver on time and without fuss.
  4.     There is easy and regular access to the senior people, they are hands on.
  5.     There is a pride, a professionalism but a humility."

Craig Deane – Chartered Loss Adjuster at Echelon Claims Consultants

"We have worked with Fitzsimons on a number of insurance claims where they have acted as the project managers and cost controllers.

They performed in a very professional manner and delivered the reinstatement work to the satisfaction of both insurers and the insured. We have also worked with Fitzsimons on specialist projects which required careful consideration to specification control and onward impact to programme and business interruption costs.

We are very happy to endorse Fitzsimons and would be delighted to work with them again."

Niall Southwell – Senior Development Manager at Moorfield Group

”We have worked with Fitzsimons on various projects now, two spring to mind; the creation of the first MGallery hotel in the UK in Bath and also the disaster recovery following our flooded Hotel in Boxhill.

The MGallery project was managed extremely effectively, under tight time constraints and difficult site measures, they ensured the building works and FFE all coincided with the overall programme with effective results. The flood of 2013 took out the majority of our hotel, which resulted in a closure.

Fitzsimons got the hotel back up and running in extremely quick timescales ensuring quality and cost were managed, they also managed the whole buildings claim process with insurers who were also impressed with the results."

Kevin Shaw – Managing Director at Audley Court Ltd

"Fitzsimons have successfully delivered one, if not the smoothest development programmes we have ever completed. The project consisted of a previous school, partially listed, riddled with dry rot that they converted into 17 fantastic apartments.

The site was on a very tight site, with a steep slope on one side and on a busy road on the other, which made logistics and programming very difficult.

We have not known Fitzsimons for long but we have already started our next scheme with them and will continue to do so in the future."

Ben Chittick – Senior Asset Manager at Kennedy Wilson Europe

Kennedy Wilson hired Fitzsimons as Project & Cost Managers and Principal Designers for a series of recent [capital expenditure/improvement] projects at the Fairmont St Andrews hotel. We found Fitzsimons to be consistently diligent, organized, accurate, and cost-conscious on each project.

As an owner who were investing significant capital into our property, it was reassuring that our interests were well looked after. This was the case whether it was a larger project or smaller project - each was treated equally. Although it was our money at stake, Fitzsimons probably did a better job fighting in our corner than we ever could have.

Despite several challenges and curveballs over a two-year period, the projects were finished [largely] within forecasted timelines and, most importantly, below budget. Because the hotel was kept open for business during these multi-phased refurb works it added an additional layer of complexity. Fortunately, the programme was expertly planned and allowed the hotel’s five-star service offering to remain uncompromised.

Finally, and not to be overlooked, was Fitzsimons’s capability to manage the entire project team, including the hotel management & brand representatives, architects, designers, landscape architects, plus a demanding owner (us). What must have quietly been a tall task to keep such a varied group focused was handled quite smoothly.

In fact, a lot of this is probably down to the outstanding levels of communication, which involved information, education, and debate as necessary.

The resultant success of the projects has garnered numerous positive comments – from within Kennedy Wilson as well as from the hotel and its patrons.

Sister Marcellina Cooney - Sisters of the Cross & Passion

"I never ceased to be amazed at the speed at which Greig of Fitzsimons dealt with matters and responded accordingly, even over the weekends. Fitzsimons are always helpful and did whatever they can to ensure we received as much help as possible.

Fitzsimons were fantastic in the way they managed to solve problems even though it may not be directly related to their scope but they are focused on the overall project goals."

David Fisher - Programme Director at REM (Real Estate Management (UK) Limited)

"Fitzsimons have worked with us on specialist projects, where attention to detail and timescales are critical. These have been complicated projects in high rise multi-tenanted building and complex insurance claims.

Fitzsimons have delivered and continue to delivery successful projects for us when and where we have the need."

Andy Munday – Director,  Cunningham Lindsey

I have been involved in two hotel reinstatement projects on behalf of insurers where Greig Hanley of Fitzsimons was appointed as the lead consultant/project manager. Both incidents involved wet perils in hotels.

One was a flood and multi million in value, the other followed an escape of water from a defective pipe. There was the need to properly oversee the remedial works as expeditiously as possible in order to mitigate the loss of revenue as a consequence of the damage. This required a proactive, competent approach to the projects which Greig and his team provided throughout.

The directors of both organisations and their insurers were very pleased with the outcome of the reinstatement of what could have been catastrophic damage had a less professional approach been taken."

Ryan Prince - Principal at Realstar Group

"Alan and his team comprise of all of the things any real estate developer and investor looks for in a firm to partner with - a sense of urgency, creativity and flexibility, high quality input and most importantly, results.

I cannot speak more highly of a firm that we've worked with in our 40 years of business."

Lacy Curtis-Ward – CEO of Lensbury

“We have worked with Fitzsimons for over four years and they have run four major projects for us ranging in size from £1-£4 million pounds. These four projects have been delivered on time, within or below budget in a measured, managed, professional fashion.

Fitzsimons has been able to make valuable suggestions when budgets or timings got tight and have been able to pull in other knowledgeable experts to tackle specific tasks or issues from their wide network. Their experience has led them to make suggestions at the conceptual phase of the project that has added value.”

Sandra Cooper – Consultant at Ecclesiastical

"We first worked with Fitzsimons during the floods in 2007. Since then Fitzsimons has been involved in a number of projects for us mainly where there is a significant element of business interruption at risk. We have been impressed with their professionalism and attention to detail as have our customers.

As a result of their involvement and their customer focus our customers have been delighted with the way that their claim has been dealt with often back in their properties earlier than expected or not even had to move out at all. We are certainly looking forward to a growing relationship with you."

Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Logo

Hugh Cooper – Property Director of Macdonald Hotels & Resorts Ltd

"Having worked with Fitzsimons in Project Management and QS roles both on commercial and residential schemes, I would highly recommend them for any capital development projects. I have found them to be equally proactive as Project Managers and Quantity Surveyors on projects from £100k selective refurbishments up to £50m new-build development.

Fitzsimons strengths begin as follows: PM skills, ability to follow the brief, assimilate and take forward our requirements, liase with ourselves and other consultants anddrive the projects forward as per agreed programme. QS: Sensible provisional budgeting, pro-active negotiation, cost management and controls."
